Description:
Dynamite Dan is a platform game with elegance! Set in a mansion with approx 48 rooms to explore from end-to-end.
Any speccy games connoisseur worth his salt will have played and even completed Dynamite Dan after its release in the mid-eighties.

Created in 1985 by Mirrorsoft, this gem sported superbly drawn sprites and excellent backgrounds; colourful, well placed and relevant.

Object:
Timing is a key factor in this game and there are many areas to explore such as library, observatory, Laboratory and Dining Halls.

Other items are placed in rooms throughout the mansion which help Dan, such as food (to maintain your stamina), oxygen, immunity and even extra lives in the form of test tubes! Dan can also move about the mansion by stepping into one of several transporters - some experimenting is necessary to familiarise with the locations, or by using the all-floors lift. Running along the bottom of the house is a river where a small raft drifts in the current. Use this to collect additional items or to move.

Criticism:
Tactics change for each game as the dynamite and other items are placed randomly about the mansion for each new game, making Dynamite Dan a difference experience for each game played!Animation of all the sprites are excellent and the sound is good.

Gameplay excellent. Colour well utilised and smooth movement. This is probably my most played game on the zxspeccy. Brilliant - five stars!

Sound & Graphics:
Not only is Dynamite Dan's world infested with beautifully constructed sprites, they animate wonderfully to boot!

The rooms are drawn superbly and each connect perfectly in the complete mansion in which our hero must venture. One might think that sound would be sacrificed for gameplay and the smoothness of the action and animation, but not so. The sounds is very well balanced throughout the full game and is used where necessary, making Dynamite Dan a Crash Smash and a favourite for any Speccy lover!
